Within my lifetime (or shall we say a single generation) I have seen instruments and their maestros dissipate into oblivion. How many of us play or hear the shehnai or rudra veena today..our children will grow up never really experiencing the haunting, melodic and mesmeric sounds of these once upon a time premier classical instruments of India. The respectability and admiration we as people of this land have for our own arts and music needs to be awakened and kept alive to give to the next generation…I will do my bit towards this endeavor.
