Indira got a call from one of our friends, Ms Moulshri, an eminent architect, co-founder of Space Matters, saying that Swedish TV, SVT wants to do a story on “Dosa” connect of the US Presidential candidate, Ms Kamala Harris, as her mother comes from a South Indian lineage. What better than showcasing that connect in a short report with Dosa dining at a South Indian home, thought the Senior South Asian Correspondent of SVT in India, Ms Malin Mendel who is also a prolific writer with four acclaimed cook books, all based on Indian cuisines.
So, Malin chose the Deepawali occasion to drop in to invest a couple of hours to capture the happenings at both homes – first at Moulshri’s – went on a Deepawali Shopping spree and decorating at her home and then coming to our home capturing the deepawali morning action at our home – parent’s doing poojai, interacting with Indira on US Elections, the policies and cases espoused by Kamala Harris and more while making dosa and having the breafast.
